The battle cry 'YO JOE' is iconic and most everyone who hears it instantly thinks GI Joe. Tonight my thoughts are on who the first Joe was to yell that battle cry. That honor would go to one if tbe original and favorite Joes Sgt. Stalker - Alonzo R. Wilkinson. He yelled it in the opening to the cartoon show in the 80s.

Now many people out there say it's cheesey as hell but I disagree. I would agree that it may have been overused in the cartoon but hey it was a kids show so you know... I think of it like a football team having a slogan like 'Roll Tide' or 'War Eagle'. It's a way of raising morale and pumping the team up before going into battle and during battle. As for the cheesiness of it, I think coming from an Army Ranger and especially Stalker it sounds damn cool.

'YO JOE'❗🇺🇲

What is Art?

1 min read

Art isn't what somebody else likes or dislikes. It isn't compiled in such a way to be judged by any particular group unless the artist wishes to.please that group. The art of self expression is so basic to our humanity. That ancient one who spat red ocre upon his hand on the cave wall were they concerned about whether anyone would like it or not? What is Art? Art is a Fireworks display, an AH-64 Apache, a Pepsi logo, a skyscraper, a stripper, a centerfold in a porn magazine, a child singing jibberish to their mother, a young woman taking a selfie in a restroom mirror its a self expression it's all Art. What is Art? Art is anything that is created by a human being to express a thought or idea, a mood, desire you name the reasons. Others decide I their own minds whether they consider it artistic or not.

Just My Opinion

I recieved a rather long and ugly rant from a fellow DA member about one of my posts. I scroll through thousands of pictures and journals on here everyday. Do I like every one of them, no? Do I report them or send them am ugly rant telling them to take down what they post, no? Granted, I do see some disturbing things on here. I don't like seeing some of the hard-core stuff like binding where the woman's breasts are turning purple. Or seeing people beaten until they are black and blue. I see pedophilia maybe not the actual acts but clearly they are into that. Those things disturb me and I do not like it. Having said that, I stay in my lane that is for them not me. Some people sky dive, I don't, do I protest around the airport...no? So my whole point is if you don't like something tbe wonderful people that set up DA put safeguards on here it is called settings. If you don't like sexuality or nudity, horror, gore all of those "mature" things then don't set your DA account to that. Manage your damn accounts! If you are under 18 YOU SHOULDN'T BE LOOKING AT MATURE THINGS! Naughty, naughty ☝

A couple weeks ago I saw 'Snake Eyes'.. I came away dissapointed. I'm sorry but I love the original storyline in the comics. The modern movie versions are hell bent on putting greed over telling a good story. It is obvious they reached out to an Asian audience hoping that foreign sales would save their poorly written and executed product. Hasbro I guess hoped to capitalize on die hard fans to buy their exclusive toys. It didn't work and the reviews prove it. On Snake Eyes's file card it says he was a practitioner of ninjistzu and other martial arts but he was a 'commando'. Snake Eyes indeed could train the other Joes in martial arts skills among other things. Which leads me to my next gripe. What is so damn wrong with GI Joe being a 'Real American Hero'? Many countries around the world have their own special forces. So they would have to team up occasionally with GI Joe to fight COBRA. So why not do that? Remember the Red Oktob3er Guard? They had a dislike of GI Joe as an adversary but a mutual enemy who was COBRA and that would being the two adversaries together to fight a common enemy. A fantastic storyline! What do we get, more ninjas, more sword fighting more Asian stereotypes. I personally think this is the nail in the coffin for GI Joe. It will never be on the big screen again maybe on any screen for any new releases even animated. I still want to develop my own story as I have time and desire even if it is just for my own personal pleasure. To anyone who reads this and comments back thank you.

It's been a while since I've wrote anything on GI Joe. So an idea floated through my mind and I wanted to write it down. GI Joe seems to be a meld of past, present and future all in one continuous timeline. Characters seem to never age and as General Douglas MacArthur famously quoted, "Old Soldiers Never Die They Just Fade Away". Perhaps that would be a great title to a GI Joe story 'Old Soldiers'?
I'm thinking that the original Joes and COBRA came along during the Vietnam Era. This made sense that the toy and comic line came out in 1984. I personally want to keep with that storyline for those characters. Here's the crazy thing; it's almost like the old characters got thrown into either an alternate universe which happened in one of the cartoons or they were sent through a time warp into the future. They're soldiers in a post apocalyptic world where loyal Americans are fighting for freedom against a fascist regime bent on world dominance who is COBRA. In this future, COBRA is no longer a terrorist organization it's a rising world power with financial backing and allies. How can cool characters from past like Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke, Scarlett along with favorite villains like Destro, COBRA Commander and Baroness exist in that fantastic future. We are now in 'The Future' so we have to keep dialing the clock forward to stay relevant because if you're trying to weave a storyline with reality fantasy does have limits. Once you stay from.those boundaries of believability the story loses its credibility and thus interest. So an alternate timeline would only make sense.
That means that somewhere during my COBRA Commander's NAZI past his father Adolph Hitler would have had to stumbled upon interdimensional travel between two planes of existence. Hitler could have been working on the device in Antarctica and discovered it during teleportation experiments. So there are two ways to move. You can go from one point to another like opening a door and walking through or you can step into an alternate universe. The question would be how would such a theoretical device work? It would be the difference between walking through a door from your home into The Oval Office of present or to a future Oval Office where COBRA is in power. You see the implications for a great story! The one barrier is we can only go forward not back in time but can hop over to a parallel timeline.
At some point I want to write this into my GI Joe stories. I'll probably have to redo some of what I've already wrote but that is just part of the fun anyway.
